As of August 2026, PECO's supply rate is 11.76¢/kWh. Our forecast has it climbing to 13.16¢/kWh over the next year.
PECO delivers electricity across the Philadelphia area and sends your bill, but the supply price on it, the price to compare, is bought through competitive purchases rather than set by PECO. The utility passes it through without a markup.
Pennsylvania refreshes this price on a regular schedule, so it stays close to the PJM regional market. In that market, the cost of keeping enough generation on standby has been climbing as demand outgrows new supply, and each reset carries the latest level of that cost onto your bill.
