Assistance Programs

Being enrolled with a competitive supplier will not impact your your enrollment in your utility's assistance program.

Budget Billing

We always recommend that you double-check with your utility provider that budget billing is compatible with competitive supply and will not result in a separate supply charge on top of your budget billing amount. Some utility's have their own specific rules and requirements surrounding budget billing and competitive suppliers.

Typically, competitive supply rates will not impact your budget billing, as the supply charges are enveloped into your budget billing amount. A lower supply rate should only help alleviate your budget billing balance.

Solar

Rooftop Solar (Net Metering):

We commend you for having (or thinking of installing) rooftop solar! Additionally, switching to a competitive supply rate is typically compatible with rooftop solar. The reduction in usage or credits you get for sending solar energy back to the grid should still apply.

Of course, we always recommend that you double-check with your utility provider just to be sure, as some utility's may have their own specific rules around net metering (rooftop solar) billing requirements.

Community Solar:

When you are enrolled in Community Solar, switching to a competitive supply rate is usually no problem. In fact, it's a great way to save even more money on your electric bill while continuing to support renewable energy.

Of course, we always recommend that you double-check with your utility provider just to be sure, as some solar programs may have their own specific rules and requirements.
